Privacy Policy
Last Updated: September 01, 2025
This Privacy Policy describes how Optimo Prompt Ai (the "Extension") collects, uses, and shares your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your data.
1. Information We Collect
The Extension is designed to operate with a focus on user privacy. We only collect the information necessary to provide and improve the service. This may include:
- Account Information: When you use the Extension, a unique User ID is generated and used to manage your subscription status. This information is synced with our backend service to provide access to premium features.
- User-Provided Data: The Extension allows you to input and save your own API keys for third-party Large Language Model (LLM) providers, such as OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, and others. You may also create and save prompts. This data is stored locally using the browser's storage permissions.
- Content Processed: The Extension processes the content of the active tab. This allows the Extension to read your prompts on supported websites to perform the optimization service.
2. How We Use Information
Your information is used to provide you with the core functionality of the Optimo Prompt Ai extension.
Specifically, we use your data to:
- Provide the Service: Your API keys are used to authenticate with and send prompts to your chosen third-party LLM providers for optimization.
- Manage Your Account: Your User ID and subscription status are used to manage your access to the Extension's features, including syncing with our backend to verify your account status.
- Store Preferences: The Extension uses your browser's local storage to save your API keys and prompts, so you can access them again later.
3. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We only share data with third parties when it is essential for the service to function.
- LLM Providers: Your prompts are sent to the third-party LLM provider (e.g., OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, etc.) that you have configured in the Extension's settings. Your API key is also sent as a header or part of the request to authenticate with these providers.
- Backend Services: A limited amount of data, specifically your User ID and subscription information, is synced with our backend service to verify your account status. We do not store your API keys on our servers. Your keys are used to create a secure, authenticated request to the LLM provider directly from your browser.
4. Data Security
We take security seriously and have implemented measures to protect your information. Your API keys and prompts are not stored on our servers and remain within your control. They are securely handled by the Extension within your browser's environment.
5. Your Choices and Controls
You have control over your information:
- API Keys & Prompts: You can add, edit, or remove your API keys and saved prompts at any time from the Extension's settings page.
- Uninstalling the Extension: You can uninstall the Extension at any time. This will remove all locally stored data, including your User ID, API keys, and prompts.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
